DREAM INTERPRETATION
Frequently Asked Questions
What are nightmares?
Nightmares are usually indicative of deep, unconscious fears
and are thus important dreams to interpret, particularly
if they are recurring. Many say that they serve as strong warnings of
things to come in your life. For your own sanity however, be cautious
about interpreting all nightmares or bad dreams
as warnings - your thoughts dictate your vibration, and living in a
state of perpetual fear is likely to result in you manifesting your
fears.
I remember many dreams each night and can't record
them all. Which are the important ones?
It depends very much on what you're looking for and there are several
answers to this question. My simple rule of thumb is that happy, feel
good dreams are good to remember if you want to raise your vibration,
and recurring dreams or those with strong negative emotional charge
are usually indicative of areas in your life which need to be addressed
and resolved. Meditating on your dreams will also assist with guiding
you intuitively to the most important ones.
Can I choose what kind of dreams I want to have?
Most definitely. One of the methods is through dream incubation, where
you focus on a specific question prior to going to sleep and set your
intent to be woken as soon as your question as been answered. It is
very important to write the question down prior to going to sleep -
often you may find that you have either forgotten the entire question
or forgotten how you posed it and having it verbatim is very beneficial
when interpreting. Usually the answer comes during the same session
of sleep. If not, I suggest that you repeat your question prior to your
next sleep session. Do so until you are satisfied that it has been answered.
Also, using meditation to set your tone before going to sleep is beneficial.
For example, if you wish to experience joyful dreams, dig into your
library of happy memories or thoughts and relive them in your mind until
you nod off.
I have many dreams where I'm being chased and
I'm unable to move or scream. Why is this?
Our bodies secrete a hormone when we nod off to create sleep paralysis.
The purpose of this is to protect us by preventing us from acting out
our dreams and potentially injuring ourselves and others. I suggest
that you work with these dreams and try to make peace whatever it is
that you're running from in your life.
Are the people we see in our dreams really those
people?
Sometimes they are reflecting the actual people we're seeing in our
dreams (particularly in premonition dreams), but usually the other characters
are reflecting an aspects of ourselves. See it as the Universe mirroring
back to you that which you need to recognise, appreciate or resolve
within yourself. As without so within.
